Original printed front wrapper bound in. = A rare and classic study on volcanology with a personal dedication from the author to Prof. C. E. Wegmann, dated october 1945. This seems to be the first translation of Vulkane und ihre Tätigkeit (1936) which had only one map. It is not a "simple" translation from the German text but a considerable enlargement "ma e stata riveduta ed amplata". A very good, clean copy.
