2 vols., roy. 8vo., First Edition, with frontispieces and many thousands of photographs (many toned in sepia) and maps in the text, endpapers very lightly spotted; original series binding of burgundy cloth, upper boards blocked and lettered in blind, gilt backs, a very good, bright, clean copy. Very good copy of Hammerton's third and final history of the conflict, following his monumental 'The Great War' produced in collaboration with H.W. Wilson during the fighting years, and his subsequent 'Popular History' in six volumes. It features a specially written introduction by H.G. Wells. This work is not recorded by Enser.
