No marks or inscriptions. A very clean very tight copy with bright unmarked boards, slight spotting (foxing ?) to top of page edges and no bumping to corners. Dust jacket price clipped but not marked or torn with very light creasing to upper edge, minor indents to rear and traces of storage. 530pp. This study starts with the reign of Henry VIII and traces the development of the British Army right up to the 1960s. The author shows how, because of the supposed immunity from attack because of the English Channel, less emphasis has been placed on our Army than on our Navy.
