Due to the very old age and scarcity of this book, some pages are missing and may be hard to read due to the blurring of the original text. The 1881 census comprised two main parts. Part I covered preliminary operations, including the preparation of village lists, nomenclature of census areas and officers, and introductory remarks. Part II delved into detailed demographic data, including population density changes, gender proportions, religious affiliations, marital statuses, age distributions, caste information, languages spoken, birthplaces, occupations, education levels, and infirmities. Additionally, the census included data on towns and concluded with a comprehensive overview of the gathered information. This comprehensive census aimed to provide a thorough snapshot of the population, its demographics, and various socio-economic aspects in 1881.
