Dalit is an important phenomenon in India today. It is no more a question of discrimination alone. Dalits is a political constituency. They have ben using a reservation opportunity in admission, jobs and promotion as well as in law making legislatures. But at the ground level their segregation continues. So does the debate that hwo to remoe this scrouge of Indian society. Is reservation the best answer. In fact the caste system that was conceived thousands of years ago to increase the productivity has become a tool of division especially in the matter of sharing food and at the time of marriage.
