New Book. 48pp. A collection of photographs with accompanying text of the Denton district of Tameside, Greater Manchester, formerly in Lancashire, mainly from the early years of the 20th century, but some go back to the later 1800's. Subjects covered include Coal Mining, Wire Works and Hat Works (for which Denton was particularly famous), Oldham's Batteries, Denton Jail and Denton Hall, early street scenes and school groups, a major fire and the Council on Jubilee Day 1897.
