2 vols., roy. 8vo., First English Edition, with an etched portrait frontispiece (original tissue guard present), titles in red and black, 16 coloured plates, very numerous illustrations (several full-page) in the text and 4 folding coloured maps (one map neatly repaired on reverse and loosely inserted); original green pictorial ribbed cloth, upper boards blocked and lettered in gilt, backstrips lettered in gilt, very neatly recased with new endpapers to style, a remarkably bright, crisp, clean copy.
