He has published extensively in Legal History - Landschaften im Alten Reich, (1973), Agrarian History - Studien zur geschichtlichen Bedeutung des deutschen Bauernstandes, (1988) and Reformation History - The Revolution of 1525, (1977); Communal Reformation, (1992).
