8vo., First Edition, with sepia-toned frontispiece and 23 sepia-toned plates (including 8 double-page panoramas) and endpaper maps, fore-edges lightly spotted; black cloth, gilt back, a very good, bright, clean copy in dustwrapper, the latter chipped at head and tail of backstrip. This early work is remarkably hard to find in the dustwrapper, designed by E.A. Cox. Fields & Devenish 23.
