With British India's governance falling under the Crown's direct control for the past ten years, the time is ripe for a thorough review and potential modifications to enhance its administration proactively, rather than leaving reform to chance. The author contends that the apparent defects in the system are mainly accidental and can be rectified through administrative vigor.
