8vo, original beige boards and black cloth gilted leters spine xv, 381 pp. Two maps and many plates and text illustrations after photographs and sketches. Muir graduated form the university of California at Berkeley in 1882. He joined the faculty and remained at Berkeley until his death, Originator of the Sierra Club, for the protection of Yosemite Valley and the Sierra Nevada.
