London, The Geological Society of London, 1841. Large 4to (28.5 x 22.5 cm). Drophead title, 7 pp. (numbered 135-141). One finely lithographed plate. Later plain wrappers. = A malacological contribution by the "Father of modern Geology", the British palaeontologist Charles Lyell (1797-1875). With the illustration of remarkable and new fossil shells. The fine plate is by George Brettingham Sowerby II. Published in the Society's Transactions 2(6). Plate verso a bit toned, otherwise a very good, clean copy. Not in Ward and Carozzi.
