Sm. 8vo., Third Impression thus, with coloured frontispiece (original captioned tissue guard present), 32 plates depicting a variety of figures in colour and monochrome (all original captioned tissue guards present), and very numerous illustrations in the text; original series binding of green leather-effect cloth, upper board backstrip blocked and lettered in gilt and black, radial corners, lower board lightly age-marked else a near fine copy. Step's introduction to Mollusca was first published in 1901 with a revised edition in 1927. It was first included in W&W in 1945, twelve years after the author's death and substantially revised by A, Laurence Wells. A bright copy of the W&W third impression. See Marren, pp.171-172.
