8vo., First Edition, with portrait frontispiece and plates, neat contemporary signature on front free endpaper; navy cloth, gilt back, a very good, bright, clean copy. Von Werra was the only Axis POW to achieve a home run from a British Camp (in Canada). His story forms the basis of Roy Ward Baker's feature film 'The One that got Away' (1957) starring Hardy Kruger.
