This is a very good hardcover copy of the 2 volume set of the original first American editions in very good dust jackets. Both volumes are very clean inside, just a little light spotting to the top page-edges of volume 1 only. Previous owner name in ink on front free endpaper of volume 1. The dust jackets are both complete with light edgewear, the jacket for volume 2 spine top a bit chipped, jackets very good overall. Both jackets in clear mylar covers. This work was originally published in German in 1962 and 1966 under the title " Zugbeanspruchte Konstruktionen". This MIT Press edition was published in 1967 and 1969. Both volumes profusely illustrated in black & white, with photos of models and actual structures, plus much technical information in the form of equations and graphs. Large 4tos, 11" high X 8.5" wide, 320 pages & 171 pages. A very nice hardcover copy of the first American edition in jackets with only light wear. Large heavy books, foreign shipping will be extra.
