Original uniform printed wrappers. = Three important early papers on knot theories, by the physicist and mathematician professor Peter Guthrie Tait (1831-1901), and the mathematician and clergyman Thomas Penyngton Kirkman (1806-1895). Contained in two issues of the Transactions of the Royal Society of Edinburgh. The whole volumes, including several other contributions in the fields of mathematics, physics, and natural history. Uncut. Wrappers soiled and a bit chipped, internally very good, clean copies.
