Roy. 4to., First Edition, on laid paper, with a sepia-toned portrait frontispiece, title in red and black, and 107 fine collotype plates (colour, tinted, or monochrome; all original tissue guards present); original red buckram, upper board blocked with crest in gilt, backstrip lettered in gilt, bevelled boards, a few tissue guards loose and browned at extremities else a very good, bright, clean copy. EDITION LIMITED TO 1526 NUMBERED COPIES (1500 FOR SALE). THIS COPY IS HAND-LETTERED AS A REVIEW COPY. Sold from an institution with its small label scars on front endpapers and neat accession stamp on title verso but otherwise a remarkably bright, clean, unstamped copy.
