Name to front end paper. No other marks or inscriptions to contents. No creasing to covers or to spine. A very clean very tight copy with slightly rubbed boards, well-rubbed lower front spine corner, small bump to slightly rubbed top of spine and no bumping to corners. Top of page edges gilt, fore-edges foxed and tanned end papers. 305pp. Written by the curator of the Palace of Versailles from 1892 to 1920, an account of the significance of Versailles in the history and the art of France. With fifty tissue-guarded coloured paintings by Rene Binet.
