In 1995, in celebration of the firm's sixtieth anniversary, Penguin produced a series of delightful reprints of works by leading authors whose works have appeared under the firm's imprint. Most are now difficult to find in anything approaching fine condition.Miss Read's 'Village Christmas' was first published by Michael Joseph in 1972 with illustrations by J. S Goodall. It was first issued by Penguin in 'Chronicles of Fairacre' in 1982.
