Descripción
8vo., First Edition, on laid paper, with portrait frontispiece, 36 plates on 24 and endpaper maps, neat signature on half-title; original blue cloth, upper board blocked in in gilt, gilt back, a near fine copy. Bright, crisp copy of the first and by far the scarcest of all the contemporary accounts of Walker's exploits (his groups sank 23 U-boats in total). Well illustrated with photographs (some less usual). Wemyss commanded WILD GOOSE; this account forms the basis of his later 'Relentless Pursuit' (1955). SCARCE IN THIS CONDITION. Enser, p.384; Law, 0222.
