La Rue de Haut Pave à Paris

Rue du Haut-Pavé a Parigi: una strada con in primo piano a sinistra un uomo che spinge una carriola; al di là, sopra i tetti, la cupola della chiesa di Sainte-Geneviève (oggi Panthéon); pubblicata in "L'Art", volume XXV, 1881, pagina 311. Acquaforte del 1881, firmata in basso con i dettagli di produzione: 'Lucien Gautier del. et sc.', 'Imp. Eudes", titolo e "L'Art". Lucien Gautier è stato un incisore e disegnatore nato a Aix-en-Provence. Compie gli studi artistici sotto la guida di Marius Reynaud, seguiti da quelli a Parigi con Léon Gaucherel. Lavora come incisore a Parigi riproducendo le opere di Corot e altri. Nel 1875 Lucien iniziò a produrre lavori originali molto apprezzati, che gli valsero medaglie e premi. È noto soprattutto per le sue incisioni di Parigi e di altre città francesi, ma ha anche creato vedute di Londra, Roma e Venezia. Le sue opere sono ampiamente conservate presso le istituzioni francesi e in numerose collezioni private. Buona impressione su carta vergata coeva, con margini, ottimo stato di conservazione. He studied art under Marius Reynaud, followed by studies in Paris with Léon Gaucherel. He worked as a journeyman etcher in Paris reproducing the work of Corot and others. In 1875 Lucien began producing original work that was highly praised, earning him medals and awards. He is best known for his etchings of Paris and other French cities, and also created views of London, Rome, and Venice. His work is widely held by French institutions and in numerous private collections. A good impression on contemporary laid paper, with margins, very good condition.
