Rue Galande à Paris

Rue Galande a Parigi: una strada con alti edifici su entrambi i lati, tra cui un caffè sulla sinistra; in primo piano un uomo che cammina accanto a un carro trainato da cavalli, due donne che conversano in mezzo alla strada, un uomo che sta per attraversare la strada e un cane seduto davanti a un hotel; pubblicato in "L'Art", volume XXIV, 1881, pagina 234. Acquaforte del 1881, firmata in basso con i dettagli di produzione: 'Lucien Gautier del. et sculp.', 'L. Eudes imp.", titolo e "L'Art". Lucien Gautier è stato un incisore e disegnatore nato a Aix-en-Provence. Compie gli studi artistici sotto la guida di Marius Reynaud, seguiti da quelli a Parigi con Léon Gaucherel. Lavora come incisore a Parigi riproducendo le opere di Corot e altri. Nel 1875 Lucien iniziò a produrre lavori originali molto apprezzati, che gli valsero medaglie e premi. È noto soprattutto per le sue incisioni di Parigi e di altre città francesi, ma ha anche creato vedute di Londra, Roma e Venezia. Le sue opere sono ampiamente conservate presso le istituzioni francesi e in numerose collezioni private. Buona impressione su carta vergata coeva, con margini, ottimo stato di conservazione. Etching, 1881, lettered with production detail: 'Lucien Gautier del. et sculp.', 'L. Eudes imp.', title, and 'L'Art'. Lucien Gautier was an etcher and designer born in Aix-en-Provence. He studied art under Marius Reynaud, followed by studies in Paris with Léon Gaucherel. He worked as a journeyman etcher in Paris reproducing the work of Corot and others. In 1875 Lucien began producing original work that was highly praised, earning him medals and awards. He is best known for his etchings of Paris and other French cities, and also created views of London, Rome, and Venice. His work is widely held by French institutions and in numerous private collections. A good impression on contemporary laid paper, with margins, very good condition.
