ALAI antiquarian & rare book fair in Milan
Get Ready for a unique cultural experience in Milan!
The city, globally celebrated as Italy's hub for fashion and design, is set to host the International Rare Antiquarian Book Fair from October 24-26. This prestigious event, a collaboration between the Associazione Librai Antiquari d’Italia (ALAI) and Fondo Ambiente Italiano (FAI), will take place at the magnificent Villa Necchi Campiglio.
The fair will convene more than 40 leading Italian and international antiquarian booksellers, offering an unparalleled opportunity to explore and buy volumes of extraordinary historical and cultural importance. The selection spans from rare manuscripts and incunabula to first editions of literary masterpieces, fine bindings, and 20th-century rarities.
This premier event is meticulously curated by the Associazione Librai Antiquari d’Italia (ALAI), Italy’s sole trade association for antiquarian booksellers and a proud member of the International League of Antiquarian Booksellers (ILAB-LILA). This robust network connects over 1,600 specialized booksellers from 35 countries, ensuring a truly global and high-quality selection.
The venue itself is a masterpiece. Villa Necchi Campiglio stands as a shining example of 1930s Rationalist architecture, elegantly designed by the notorious architect Piero Portaluppi. Its prime location in central Milan, just a short walk from Via Montenapoleone and the Duomo, makes it a perfect destination. The villa's interiors, with their elegant, art-filled rooms and original furnishings create a refined and memorable atmosphere, perfect for the exhibition.

Friday, October 24: 2:00 PM – 7:00 PM;
Saturday, October 25: 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM;
Sunday, October 26: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM.
Admission:
Admission is €5, with a discounted price of €4 for FAI members. While tickets can be purchased at the door, advanced booking is highly recommended to secure your entry. Please note that Villa Necchi Campiglio is fully accessible for visitors with disabilities.
