8vo., First Edition thus, on laid paper, with fine coloured frontispiece (original captioned tissue guard present) and 23 fine coloured plates (all original captioned tissue guards present), half-title and last leaf of text mildly browned, neat contemporary signature on front free endpaper; original green cloth, upper board with coloured illustration (repeated from text) mounted in gilt frame with arabesques in gilt and red, gilt back (moderately faded but wholly legible), expertly recased, a bright, crisp copy. The first abridged edition, selecting 24 plates from the 50 of the original edition of 1907. Hughey 16j.
