London, J. Van Voorst, 1836. Two volumes in two. Large 8vo (25.0 x 15.7 cm). 918 pp. [xxxviii, 408; 472]. With several hundreds of fine text engravings. Contemporary uniform grained morocco. Boards with gilt ornamented rectangular borders; spines with five raised, gilt-lined bands and gilt title. Yellow endpapers. Top edges gilt. = A nicely bound and rare large paper copy of the uncommon first edition. "Normal" copies have a page-size of about 21.5 x 14.0 cm. The fine engravings are of fish, and fishery scenes. Some light shelfwear, erasure on front free endpaper, otherwise very good, clean set. Nissen ZBI, 4488.
