Two volume set. No added marks or inscriptions to contents. No creasing to covers, creased/rubbed spines. Very clean very tight pages with some marking to boards (see image), all board edges decorated gilt (see image) , original bindings sound, page edges brown and minor bumping to corners. 280 + 279pp. Author was gardener to Sir Thomas Gascoigne. Second corrected and greatly enlarged edition. Chapters on the nursery, forest trees, fruit trees, mushrooms, cabbages, carrots, turnips, vines and fence management.
