Original printed wrappers. = A major contribution by the American geologist and echinodermologist Frank Springer (1848-1927) with his portrait, biography and bibliography (as Springer believed this to be his final contribution to science). The scientific paper by Springer contains many new species. This is one of the less common Smithsonian publications. Uncut. Small stamp on title page. Front wrapper and title page edges fared, a bit chipped and with a small hole (not affecting the text); label on spine; otherwise a very good, clean copy.
