A fascinating study, tracing the long sought-after ownership of a 16th century collection of books - now dispersed all over the world - famous for their cryptic device of Apollo and Pegasus. Provenance: Tipped-in to front paste-down is a presentation inscribed note from the author to Richard William Hunt (1908-1979) scholar, grammarian, palaeographer, editor, and author of a number of books about medieval history.
