Dust jacket price clipped but not marked or torn or creased with sunning to spine and minor traces of storage. 288pp. Biography of Field Marshall Sir Claude Auchinleck, a soldier in both World Wars, he was the first British commander of the Second World War to defeat a German general in battle. He began his career with the Indian Army, but during the turbulent days of Partition, he sadly had to supervise its destruction.
