4to., Second Impression, with 12 coloured plates and 28 monochrome illustrations in the text, neat inscription on front paste-down; original series binding of pictorial boards, a near fine copy. Published in Collins' well-known 'Britain in Pictures' series. One of only three volumes in BIP to have reproduced on upper board and dustwrapper a print rather than the usual stylised design (dustwrapper not present with this copy). The title was first advertised as English Romantic Painting'. SCARCE IN THIS CONDITION. Carney 34 (recording the first edition).
