Description
Paris, Sociéte Géologique de France, 1938. 4to (32.5 x 25.0 cm). 121 pp.; eight fine, photographic plates. Original printed wrappers. = A little-known work, chiefly on late Miocene (Tortonian) marine molluscs from Tunisia, including several that are described as new. Written by the French geologist and palaeontologist of Russian descent, Vladimir Stchepinsky (1896 [or 1898]-1968). This is the author's thesis. The plate headers indicate that it was also published in the society's Mémoires, as number 37, or Nouvelle Série XVI. Uncut. Fore and bottom edge therefore a bit frayed and chipped, in particular the lower outer corner. Otherwise a very good, clean copy.
