Leipzig, F. A. Brockhaus, 1876. 8vo (17.5 x 11.5 cm). 381 pp.; 71 text figures. Contemporary half calf over marbled boards. Gilt title on the spine. Edges speckled red. = Attractively illustrated work by the Austrian geologist Carl (or Karl) Ferdinand Peters (1825-1881), with, mostly, fossil shells. A part of the Internationale Wissenschaftliche Bibliothek (Band XIX). Boards and spine a bit rubbed, old blindstamp on title page, and two old stamps on title page verso, otherwise very good.
