Saint Pétersbourg, Académie Impériale des Sciences de St.-Pétersbourg, 1904. Large 4to (33.2 x 25.1 cm). 84 pp.; 64 text illustrations. Original printed wrappers. = A rare work on the genitalia of butterflies and their important role in evolution. Written by the Estonian zoologist, entomologist - and in particular lepidopterologist - Wilhelm Petersen (1854-1933) and published in the academy's Mémoires, as Série VIII, vol. XVI(8). Two old stamps on front wrapper, otherwise a very good, clean copy.
