Description
Dresden, Kaiserliche Leopoldino-Carolinische deutsche Akademie der Naturforscher, 1865. Large 4to (29.6 x 22.6 cm). Title pages to the Verhandlungen; 15 pp., one finely hand-coloured lithographed plate. Contemporary marbled wrappers. = An interesting study on the variability of the salamander, Triton cristatum, with the inclusion of a new variety, T. c. icterica. The author continues with drawing a parallel with a rare variety of the butterfly, Euprepia villaca. Both species are well-figured. Published in the academy's Verhandlungen. Text a bit spotted, some light offsetting, otherwise a very good copy. Rare.
