Épinal, Valentin, 1847. 8vo (23.7 x 15.0 cm), 104 pp. Contemporary quarter pebbled cloth over marbled boards. Spine with gilt title. Marbled endpapers. Speckled edges. = A seldom-seen work by the French malacologist Ernest Puton (1806-1856), dealing with the recent, and fossil (Pleistocene and Tertiary) molluscs of the département Vosges in northeastern France. With a hand-written, signed dedication by the author to the great French malacologist Gérard Paul Deshayes (1796-1875). Boards worn at edges, otherwise a very good copy.
