Heidelberg, C. F. Winter, 1824. Folio (41.1 x 28.5 cm). viii, 74 pp., 20 engravings of different cereals drawn by W. von Jenison and nicely printed by Schlicht in Mannheim. Contemporary blind half calf over marbled boards. Red edges. Original printed wrappers bound in. = Interesting monograph on the most important European cereals. Rare, especially with the original printed wrappers still present. The illustrations include whole plants, grains, florets, etc., the descriptions are extensive, including synonymies, distribution, names in several languages including Scandinavian languages, etc. Text a bit foxed, the plates generally cleaner.
