Description
Sm. folio, First Edition, with photographic title-spread and very numerous fine full-page photographs throughout; rose cloth, upper board and backstrip lettered in white, lightly browned at extremities (as often), a very good, bright, firm copy in unclipped dustwrapper, the latter moderately browned and frayed with loss at edges (rather more so on rear panel). Haskins' first book, published in New York although the shoots were completed in his native South Africa. An important and pioneering portfolio from a photographer who rose rapidly to cult status in both commercial and artistic markets.
