Nürnberg, Johann Leonhard Schrag, 1811. 8vo (20.2 x 12.7 cm). vi, 78 pp.; folding engraved map of the region of Meissen and Dresden. Contmporary mottled half calf over marbled boards. Spine with gilt bands and blue morocco label with gilt title. Pale yellow edges. = A seldom-seen work by the German geologist, naturalist and educator Karl Ludwig Georg von Raumer (1783-1865). This is one of his earliest publications, published in the year that he became a professor of mineralogy in Breslau. The content is mainly on petrology of the Erzgebirge, for instance: Ueber die Sienitformation, and Fragmente eines Aufsatzes über die Flössgebirge.Light shelf wear; otherwise an excellent, spotless, unmarked copy.
