Ristampa facsimilare in 300 copie della traduzione inglese (1920) dell' originale tedesco (1852) di questa bibliografia di riferimento sulla raffigurazioni anatomiche dalla preistoria fino a metà Ottocento. Di interesse il saggio introduttivo di C. Singer (1876-1960), storico della scienza, della tecnologia e della medicina fra i più importanti del Novecento, professore a Oxford e a Londra.
