Name to front end paper. No other marks or inscriptions. No creasing to covers or to very slightly sunned spine. A very clean very tight copy with bright unmarked olive green boards, clear gilt lettering to spine, dusty page edges, bump to top of spine, one oversize page and no bumping to corners. All fold-out maps in excellent condition. 316pp. In July 1916, the author visited the theatre of war in Italy on the invitation of the Italian authorities. This account embodies the opinions formed and the information gathered plus a brief discussion of the causes and motives by which Italy was compelled to participate in the conflict of World War I.
