Description
8vo., First Edition, with title-vignette and illustrations in the text; original pictorial wrappers, small surname lettered on upper wrapper, covers very faintly age-browned else a remarkably bright, clean copy, now housed in custom-made buckram portfolio with paper label. This rare and hilarious novel, delightfully illustrated by Bernard Bays, is set against the background of the Abyssinian campaign of WWII. Juma is an optimistic African employed as lorry driver who attributes the British Army's success largely to his own intervention in the conflict. A BRIGHT, CRISP COPY OF A RARE WORK NOW SAFELY PRESERVED FOR THE FUTURE.
