8vo (197x130 mm). 67 pp., [4] black and white plates. Editor's printed wrappers. Uniformly browned, heavily stained. Second edition, the work is part of the collection Biblioteca di fotografia scientifica, pratica ed applicazioni.
Rodolfo Namias was a chemist and photographic optician. In 1894 he founded and edited Il Progresso Fotografico, a magazine published by the Editrice Progresso, based in Milan. This magazine was one of the first Italian publications on photographic technique and art. The magazine is still published today under the title Progresso Fotografico, Gold Series.
