Orig. cloth. with gilt vignette on front board. = Contains, amongst others, an important contribution by the renowned scienitist H. de la Beche, On the formation of the rocks of South Wales and south western England with 9 folded geological maps (8 handcoloured). This early geological journal was only published up to 1872 i.e., vol. 4 no. 1. Spine cover partly detached/perished, one plate edgetoned, othgerwise very good. Rare.
