First Edition, [iv],16pp., tile slightly spotted, disbound. Newby analysis the properties of Mangel-Wurzel, German for beet root, it was originally developed in the 18th century for cattle fodder and was strongly recommended by Dr. Lettsom. The author gives several examples, one of which is a farmer who produced above 47 tons per acre, and says that he could never obtain more than two thirds of this weight of Swedish turnips.
