Description
Montreal, E. Bellings [later: B. Dawson & Son], 1857-1860. Five volumes in five. 8vo (20.9 x 13.3 cm). Ca. 2500 pp.; numerous woodcuts, several folded charts. Contemporary half calf over marbled boards. Marbled edges. The first volume has the printed wrappers bound in. = The start of this series, with numerous contributions to Canadian zoology and palaeontology. Includes descriptions of new species of various, mostly Palaeozoic invertebrates, including brachiopods and molluscs. Boards word, detached (one missing), and spine covers mostly perished. Internally, however, very good, clean, except for a signature, dated 1860, in the top margin of the title pages.
