Description
Tiny name/date (1929) to front end paper. No other marks or inscriptions. No creasing to covers or to spine. A very clean very tight copy with unmarked boards, gilt top of page edges, clear gilt lettering/embossing to front/spine, rubbing to spine ends and no bumping to corners. 327pp. This account of Hardy's life, published under his second wife's name was in fact a collaboration between them from his diaries, notebooks and letters and completed by his wife after his death. Illustrated including with pictures of Thomas Hardy at various stages in his life. Tucked in is a further photograph of Hardy in his later years from part of a book review article.
