London, The Royal Society, 1888. 4to (29.8 x 23.0 cm). 45 pp.; five tinted lithographed plates. Disbound. = A well-illustrated and detailed account of the ontogeny of this free-swimming crinoid. The author suspected that the British and the Mediterranean form are in fact different species. Published in the Society's Philosophical Transactions, Volume 179. This not the abridged octavo edition, which does not have the fine, large plates which are present here. Disbound, but complete and clean. A very good copy.
