Description
London, The Royal Society, 1888. 4to (29.8 x 23.0 cm). 45 pp., five tinted lithographed plates. Contemporary half cloth with gilt title to spine. = A well-illustrated and detailed account of the ontogeny of this free-swimming crinoid. The author suspected that the British and the Mediterranean form are in fact different species. Published in the Society's Philosophical Transactions, Volume 179. This not the abridged octavo edition, which does not have the fine, large plates which are present here. Some minor waer to cloth and a small stamp to top margin of title page otherwise a very good copy in a nice binding.
