London, British Ornithological Union, 1928. 8vo (21.8 x 14.3 cm). xlvi, 866 pp.; 43 plates (seven in full colour). Original red, embossed cloth with gilt title on the spine, and gilt vignette on the front board. Top edge gilt. = A volume from one of the longest running and most influential ornithological magazines. Especially the earlier years, with fine plates by Keulemans, Grönvold and others, are very uncommon and sought-after. Spine slightly sunned, as often, and with a vertical tear, with a small part of the cover lost; otherwise very good.
