A very clean very tight copy with slightly dusty unmarked boards and page edges, well-sunned spine, small bump to front fore-edge, rubbing to spine ends and no bumping to corners. Untrimmed lower page edges. Four fold-out documents present, three in good condition and one badly torn but complete. 345pp. The account of an American citizen who was studying in Paris at the start of the First World War and who was quickly given the role of Attache at the American Embassy. During the next seven months he worked in Paris and visited Berlin and prisoner of war camps among many other places. This is the diary of his work and his observations. Illustrated with fifteen photographs by the author and facsimiles of four official documents. First British Edition.
